Book 4: Paddlin' with Thoreau: Reflections from the Red Kayal
Paddlin’ with Thoreau is Mary Anne’s fourth book in the Reflections from the Red Kayak series. A long-time student of Thoreau, Mary Anne’s intention is to bring forth his wisdom in a collection of essays, reflecting upon his lesser known quotes. Each essay begins with Thoreau’s thoughts and finishes with Mary Anne’s insights from her kayaking and climbing excursions. Her extensive reading of Thoreau’s works and her personal journeys to many of his sacred places in New England bring a richness and depth to her introspective messages. Thoreau found his answers in nature, and it is her hope that through sharing his philosophy, we, too, can turn to nature for our answers today.
